Pro Challenge!!!

Fonthill, ON- On Labour Day, Monday, September 1, 2014, Lookout Point Country Club’s Head Golf Professional, JJ Alexander, will be hitting 1000 golf balls for the second year in a row at LPCC Practice Range beginning at 7am. Net proceeds will be donated to the build of the new Wellspring Niagara Centre coming soon to Pelham.

Each of the 1000 golf balls can be purchased for $5 through Lookout Point Country Club, Wellspring Niagara and the Town of Pelham.  Golf Balls can also be purchased on the day of the event and can be bought in memory and/or in honour of someone fighting cancer or who has lost their fight to cancer.  Our goal is to raise $10,000 this year. We encourage businesses and individuals to come out to support Wellspring Niagara and cheer on Alexander.

The 1000 Ball Challenge originated Monday, September 2, 2013 for a long time LPCC Member and friend, Carol Smith, who has recently passed away. Smith was diagnosed with a rare form of Melanoma. At the time, her doctor had prescribed a prescription that cost up to $3,000 a month. Our membership and the community came together to raise money to help her with the expense of this prescription. Approximately $7,000 was raised last year. Smith was an exceptional woman, who always had a smile on her face and a big heart. She is greatly missed by her family, friends and staff and Members at LPCC.

Other Head Golf Professionals in the Niagara area have been invited to participate. We have asked each Head professional to sell an additional 100 golf balls at $5.

“For our second 1000 Ball Challenge we wanted to pick a worthy cause that would benefit our community. After speaking with Mayor Dave Augustyn, we decided the new Wellspring Niagara Centre, would be perfect”, said Alexander.  It is the perfect opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause and to allow other businesses in the community to get involved. Accelerated Health and Wellness Centre has committed to being a major sponsor for the second year in a row.  Smith was a member of Wellspring Niagara and she was excited about Wellspring’s future new home in Pelham. Mayor Dave will also be in attendance and hitting some golf balls alongside Alexander.

Lastly, if the corresponding number to your golf ball goes into the hole you will be entered for a chance to win $500, if no golf balls go into the hole, the entire field of entries will have a chance to win $500.
